Description

Last week, My best buddy passed on. And just after that, the skies finally released the thunder it was holding for so long, and I'd like think the skies held it for my dog, simply because the world knew he never liked thunder storms.

Tye- You were the best damn dog this world ever knew. We gave it our best shot, but nature has it's way and at least I can say that last Monday, you were basking, walking and playing with me in the sun and you seemed to be the happiest dog in the world. I hope then we gave you the joy you gave us in return. No matter the bad news, day or year; you ALWAYS cheered us up and you were ALWAYS happy to see us (eve if we popped out for 5 minutes to just to get some milk- you'd always treat it like we'd been away for months). We really meant it when we said you were 'such a good dog'.

Proportion and perspective is all wrong but you don't think about those things. I painted Tye first and then the background. All in water colours on canvas. plan to do another, with the perspective and proportions more focused.

I'm no good at profound quotes at this point. So I'm going to steal someone else's :

"Many years ago when an adored dog died, a great friend, a bishop, said to me,
'You must always remember that, as far as the Bible is concerned, God only threw
the humans out of Paradise.'" - Bruce Foyle

"He possessed beauty without vanity, strength without insolence; courage without
ferocity; and all the virtues of man without his vices."
Lord Byron - His epitaph for his dog.

This picture carries such a deep meaning that I won't, will not, or even try to notice the errors you, yourself, pinpointed.
I find it a beautiful traditional piece, with a nice message and memory.

Oh, and what you said about the skies... that's so adorable, really x)

Hope little old Tye still warms your heart with the memories you have of him =)
